THE SCARE IS OVER - CRUISE SHIPS HEAD BACK TO MEXICO

No big surprise now that the USA has ceased warnings about travel to Mexico because of the outbreak of swine flu, cruise lines are heading back to the region. No big surprise either as more than 75% of voters here at Prow's Edge Cruise Magazine Blog declared their belief that the threat of the virus had been grossly exaggerated. Less than 14 % of them believed that it had not been emphasized enough.

Carnival is one of the first to announce that once all voyages with previously modified itineraries are completed, those vessels will revert to their original routes featuring stops in Mexico. Most itineraries were modified through mid-June. See the full press release at http://www.prowsedge.com/cruises-news-150509-carnival-cruises.html

Royal Caribbean International, in their H1N1 Flu Statement, also on the 15th May, announced that they will resume its port calls in Cozumel, Mexico, beginning with sailings that depart on or after May 24, 2009.

Looks like things are getting back to normal.
