Those of you who think Twitter is a bird species need not read on. Those who are Tweets will be delighted to know you can now use Twitter as yet another tool to help you find hot cruise deals and all-things cruising.
Twitter is of course the latest vogue foisted on us by some Silicon Valley egghead (while most of us us still trying to get to grips with IPod, the Blackberry, Facebook etc). Still, as many of you know, Twitter is a free social networking and microblogging service. Its users send each other short text messages (up to 140 characters in length) known as “tweets”. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, SMS or various external applications.
The number of Twitter users are now several million and the cruise industry hasn’t been slow to cotton on to this new marketing tool: at your finger tips now are travel agents specializing in cruises, online cruise news and review sites, and cruise lines, and of course many Tweets interested in cruising.
